Yet Another Software Junk | മറ്റൊരു പാഴ്‌ജന്മം

If I were Thomas Alva Edison, you might be still in Darkness.

Sorry...Life is not a Mime. whatever !!!

You can do anything on a mime. Want to fall in love !!! yes of course !
You want to propose the heroine in your own dream way... yup go ahead.
You want to re-join your heart broken by her ? Why worry... it is so easy.

Just change the script !!!

The same thing we can not do in the Life :-(
There is no Undo button ;-)

You have to carefully design the system and sadly 90% of things are out of your control.

If you knew things before it happen, what is the thrill on it !!!

That is the beauty of life. You can not predict it. face as it is !!!

George went for a shopping with his roommates to T.Nagar, Specifically Saravana Stores. it seems that every chennaites are spending 20% of their salary there;otherwise they need to spend 25% somewhere else. Items are so cheap to resist buying it. And George was a bit sad to see that his rbk chappal cost 250 less there :-( .The only man who didn't get a shoe of this choice might be his room mate,SMT ;-) I don't think that he could buy a shoe from somewhere else in the world.

Met my old student there with her mother, last time she was with her father. Is world too small ??
"Mother..this is 'George' sir ...", is she still shivering !!!! (FYI lab session were a bit tough with George; as he will not allow any of his students to eascape with out a quality code)
"yeah, I heard about you a lot...", seems that her mother is also not a step behind to praise George.
"ohh thanks..but I am not a proud teacher nowadays... just a yet another software junk now :-("

Want to see a crowd like Thrissur Pooram !!! come and visit SS.

Salim Kumar did an excellent job. superb selection, Lal Jose !

The movie simply narrated problem of conversion from one religion to another, the problems of over expectations over children, the society behaviours towards victims of brutal rapes, mental state of a middle-class family.

At any moment I didn't felt sentimental, though the theme was! That is the difference while compare to 'Thanmatra'. Personally I felt Salim kumar did a better job than what Mohan Lal did in Thanmatra. Final 10-20 minutes was amazing. You can not say that Salim was either Psychic or normal. He showed the thin line between those two.

Camera was also good and script/dialog as well!!

Am happy to see that Malayalam Movies are returning back in form.

For me if I am attempting to do something for the first time, I feel proud.

If you got succeeded, you can see a triumph on your face.
Otherwise your mind goes blank. you might feel a bit sad.

Yet I believe, no matter what the result was !!! keep going. Be proud what you have done. it is always better to do something than not doing anything.

I have been experienced both feeling in a few different occasions.

A bit pressure is always good. it is really nice to be busy with work. think... A few people are watching you, a few are waiting for your analysis, You are waiting for somebody else’s test result, you are waiting for somebody’s reply !!! it is a good feeling, isn't it.

Thanks Bill, Zulfiqar, Markand for your queries, doubts. Thanks Quang,Praveen,Vijay for your test results; Thanks Steve, Mark, alon,Anish for your support; Thanks Binny, Ram for making me busy with rehearsal for Cultural activities. Thanks Bijoy for calling me for a C evaluation; got a chance to see a good C guy again in company/

It is always good to be busy with something to forget your personal tension, anxiety etc. I always love to do 3 or 4 different things in a day/

"No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
-Luke 9:62.

While I was in 10th I heard this sentence for the first time from my father.
"Kalappayil kai vachittu thirinju nokkunnavan swargarajyathinnu yogyanalla".
May be he noticed the lack of interest in my studies. It was the right time he had used this weapon. It motivated me a lot at that time. Also Even Now I am using this same old trick to complete something I had started. But surprisingly my dream for a Malayalam spell Checker is on the half way for last 4 years !!!! :-(

We celebrated sports day first time ever @ Nehru stadium. it is just like a collage day events. Around 23 events with 100/200/400 meter dash, high/long jumps, short put, javelin, sack race etc. surprisingly I did participated in 1500 m dash which was not scheduled earlier...and of course with bare boot. I don’t remember that I did anything similar to this in school/college days though I was interested in other games like Cricket, football, tt, chess, carom etc. We could see a good competition between 3 female athletes and 2 Male athletes.

The view from the top of stadium is impressive!!! Also we could see Central Railway station and International indoor stadium from this one.
Most importantly we re-made our college “TaTta TaTta .. eeyaa ovaa G E C” ( mathanga ..ithu engane manglishil ezhuthumadai !!!) . Done the same for our company. !!!

footnote:
I am too was not interested much on this event since I was involved in a few interesting work and a critical bug as well. Luckily the bug got fixed in the previous day. This is the first time in the company I did neglected the mail threads about events ;-) Anyway Bijoy, Raveesh and all pulled me into the stadium. Otherwise my miss will be a miss ( ente nashtam oru nashtam thanne aayenne ennu ;-)

Current Song: Samayamam Radathil njan .... Is this a coincident ??!!!

George didn't give any permission to somebody to do this. look at his lips; how dare she was !!!

People have been told first experience will cherish for ever. Yes, it is his first experience. First time ever somebody is kissing him. Got a chance to know her curves a bit. Do not misunderstand George. He is a decent fellow and didn't like this at all ;-) intentionally or not ..it happened.

He was driving his brand new Ikon from mission hospital to back home. His little cousin was admitted there for a minor head injury. He stopped the car at the signal near to Sakthan thamburan market. His intension was to drive straight to market as it is the short cut to home. As soon as the signal was cleared he slowly took his car a couple of meter forward, a splendor hit on his left side, and flew into the market!

How dare he was !!! to overtake a vehicle from left side. He was just behind George, coming from the same hospital,(His daughter was admitted there) and going to Thrissur Round. he *must* stop at the right side of the car, if his intension was to go to right side of the signal. It seems that it is all planned by somebody!!! both the parties were busy to return back from hospital as it is 2.30 noon and not taken the lunch. it is just like George went there from Chennai on that morning and gave his car to kissed by a splendor :-(
Not much injury to the splendor guy; just shaken his paint from the knee and the foot rest bent a little.
George didn't notice even a single scratch on the car, but later his mother showed a small pit near to headlight. a 1 cm miss ;-). On her word she can make a "kuzhi-appam" on that pit.

A second kiss happened on next day itself. but in a different way. On the way to ‘Cherthalla’, his sis is studying there, 115 Km away from Thrissur. George had driven around 160KM,himself. The road was very good and dividers made driving easy. And the car is so stable to drive in a 90KM/hr. The surprising thing is that his father, who didn't like to see his son driving above 60KM/hr, didn't noticed this !!! So he steadily raised the speed to touch 98KM/hr.
"Father, did you ever sat on a car which is flying in a speed of 100 ? "
"What ?"
"Nothing, you are going to experience it."
"Da da daa"
:-)
Dashboard speedometer safely kissed 100KM/hr. He had tried upto 105. The car was stable!!!

Is it because of death anniversary of Mahathma Ghadhi !!!! Don't think So.
Sadly I am not that much Patriotic :-(

Today After lunch in room and a catnap, I hang on the current bug, which deals with Memory fragments. Thought many solutions outof which 3 are reasonable, only two are under my control.(Confidential matters !!!) . Thought about fix and possible breakage, I walked out of the room and locked it with automated -7 levers-lock.

Only two steps... I had realised that I forgot Key inside, which is always kept in my wallet. yup I had forgot that too. ok why worry ??? just call Bijoy to bring key :-)

Where is mobile !!! I forgot that too :-(. never mind.Only a five minute walk... just goto company take the key from Bijoy, come back , take those two. Just two more steps !!!

where is My ID card !!!!
:-(
what to do now.

Why I need a ID card ? The gate security will issue a temporary card.
Who is going to call me at this time ??!! so why Mobile phone ;-)
If I don't want to take my mobile, why to collect key from Bijoy !!!
Ohh I forgot I have to take my wallet !!!
Why ?
I can approach a few in the company without any second thought.

So I am free !!! no need to carry anything. I really felt it.

This is how I made my second 'memorable day' by forgetting things [to do]

you *must* read it like the way Tom Hanks said in Cast Away while he made FIRE.

"look what I have created ....I ve made fire... I ...have ....made fire".

what is in driving our own car ourselves ..alone !!! may be nothing for you. But for me it is somewhat similar to above expression.

I had started driving while I was about to join Engg. college !!!! after 9 years I am driving alone !!!! "what happened ?" you might have asked !!!. My father had a car ; 'Ambassador Classic'; black in color. KLC 2479. if you are trying to learn shooting ..you must start aiming at thookanan kuruvi (the Weaver Birds). start with the toughest one ;-) This big car is a bit heavy for a lean teenager, don't you think so. But I thought about my school-classmate, Arun, who drove a brand ambassador right from his 13.

"Father, Don't you think that I am enough old to learn driving ?"
"Is it, do you think so ?"
"yes I am. Look ..Arun is driving since we were in 8th. and I am 18 now".
"ok as you wish !!! "
I was so happy ..running back to room to take the Key.
"Did you see that bucket and the cloth ?"
"yes I do"
"Good !!! bring some water near to car"
"Is that water necessary to learn driving...oh I got ... I had seen that you are filling water after open the bonnet.. but why cloth"
"yeah you got it son. but we had enough water to cool down the engine."
"Then !!!" I exclaimed.
"Those people who want to learn driving must clean the car first !!!!", he made his stance clear
"What ????... if I didn't clean.. then... "
"...you will not touch this car in your life"
I ...just ...shocked. its a determined voice.
"I'll clean only top and side; never wheels "
"Fine. but next day wheels only "- He defined.
---
Finally he showed how that car is working and all(luckly he didn't went to polytechnic; Thalayina mantram). First day he didn't even allowed me to start the car. Just gear changing to all positions !!! A couple of time I forgot to apply clutch; and the punishment was on the fly.

Next day, I had started my Car !!! (of course only after cleaning the wheel :-) , changed the gear to first. slowly applied the accelerator. chuck...chuck...chuck !!! three jumps like a horse and engine off !!! :-))

First assignment was is just to go straight forward and reverse back. After he himself comfortable with my ability to go and forth, he picked me to a road near to pookunnam with fields in both sides.

And he set a few rules too
Rule one : if any child come across, take your leg off from the accelerator and make a slight horn. Either they will give you side or they stay where they are !!!

Rule two :if you see some ladies around the road, just stop the car and 'shutdown'; don't make any noices.

"why ?"

"otherwise either they jump right infornt of you, or jump into the field".Eventhough he exaggerated things, I have a few experiences that shows children are better than women in the road.

Training was progressed pretty comfortable for three month until I had an injury on the collar bone(its broken while playing cricket). Doctor prescribed one month bed rest and hence stopped the driving. anyway I came to know that there is a bone called 'collar bone' in the shoulder.
Then I joined the Engg. college and forgot about driving at all.

And once I thought about driving again, it was too late !!! Father already decided to give retirement to the our 30 years old 'dude'. "muppathu kollam njangale ulakam chutticha... oru dozen unclemareyenkilum driving padipicha ...."(read it like the way Jagathi said in mazha peyunnu madalam kottunnu)

After 5 years from the first attempt to drive, I had taken the driving license for the four wheeler (and the two wheeler as well). at the time we owned no car( no bike as well). even though I got driving license, my father didn't allowed me to drive a car(uncle's car), eventhough they are ok. In their words this is how somebody is learning to drive. but my father alone seems to unaware about it. He has his own principles and policies.

A month back, father had decided to purchase a car. I had suggest Hyundai Santro. IHMO it is very simple car and easy to drive too. If he buy a long car, I am sure he will not give it to me for a drive. I know I might need to fight. Finally the same thing happened. As per my Aliyan's (Husband of my cousin) , he is supposed to be good in Automobiles, My father went for a Ford Ikon.

As expected, he didn't allowed me to drive it alone. He doesn't want to see some scratches in a newly bought car. I too have some fear of scratches. (Appane paranjittu enthu karyam, Aadhyam njan nannavanam ;-) wherever I go he follows just like hutch network (More precisely Gaadha Jam in Vandanam:-)) He was ready to spent all of his time to ensure no scratches.

The most irritating to me was his running commentary to give horn, apply brake for each and evrey corner. most of the time I am going to do all these :-( I got a few days in Christmas holidays to prove my driving skils. he seemed not satisfied. Next weekend I again went to home for out great Aranattukara St.Thomas church palli perunnal(enna vyajena ) Thought to drive car alone this time. No way !!! he was still with me. Again I have to prove that I applying horn in all turning; breakes every 'necessary' movements. But time up; time to come back while I almost made an impression that I can handle situations. Next time went to home town for Ranjit's Marriage. Got a few time to drive !!! Still I have to start building his confidence from ONE.

This Sunday, I have driven my car. Alone... to my aunt's home. Just 2KM. a sample drive to prove myself. then gave a lift to Bijoy to his home . A 12 KM drive. Then went to a marriage function 36KM. Even though my father was there along with me on last occasion, he didn't said a word eventhough I made a few mistakes.

Do you think that he changed his mind on this Sunday ;-) I had told that if he didn't allow me to drive alone, I will not drive this dream machine anymore :-) Simple isn't it ?

Do you think that he was frightenend of my words. !!! Never.
it might be because he thought like "enthenkilum chaiyyu"
or even... might be... he had built confidence on me :-?

I saw her in canteen.
I saw her near to ATM machine.
I saw her near to auto stand.
Who she is !!!

her name resembles a word in this song.

Common George!!! wake up !!! are you still in the fancy world?

For me, New Year starts with this day. in fact my_age++;

A few dreams are fulfilled in the last year,
A few are still pending.
A few will be fulfilled on the course of time.
A few others need my whole hearted hardwork.
A few might not be fulfilled in my life.
A few were fulfilled without my knowledge !!!
A few dreams are forgotten :-(

A few gives me happiness.
A few are a surprise.
A few dreams are gifted.
A few are on wrong time.

A few good sleep to see all these dreams ;-)
A few loneliness to enjoy these dreams.
A few long travel to plan the dream
A few self trust to make the dream no more.

A few dreams demand to do something
A few others not to do
A few dreams need your patience
A few others your sudden act.

A few dreams takes long time
A few others take short time
A few takes no time
A few dreams never happens.

Resmi's new year is also starting on the same day !

He is not... just one !!! he was there with me from my childhood though our friendship become stronger in 1996-97, while we were preparing for Kerala entrance. Almost everyday we meet either in my home or in his home. The known reason is combined study. that is true for most of the time. But we enjoyed a lot of movies (both in theater -best time for English Movies- and as Video cassette), chess, lot of fun. And when we came together for a cause, restructuring our CLC Parish Library, its a golden story of success.

We were there ,together, on same bunch in our sunday catechism, my name was followed by his name in th roll call (it is not maintained by alphabetical order but the joining date). we calls him 'White Devil', since he is so white compared to others, and of course his innocent 'devilish' thoughts.(sorry Ranjit, to remind your old nick name)

Finally, It was his marriage on last Sunday with Resmi from our college, (joined after we came out :-( working in same industry-civil/construction- and in same city-bangalore. that what he is looking for.

One Surprise happend on the wedding day. His chairman gifted him a red Maruti Alto !!!! Thats enough to prove that Ranjit value very much for his company. If somebody is gifting an Alto, it must be from his heart. someone must know the difference between gifting an Alto and expecting an Alto

It was YA marriage organizing experience for me. two more busy days in my life.

It started since 'I don't know'; but little George happily participated in Crib 'development' along with his father and cousins. Once George took ownership of this while he was in +2, and got no price, but learned important lession. "Do not wait for the last moment".

Just a 2 min power failure (short circuit) caused a disqualification. Next time he carefully finished all electric work much before and done a round of testing too. And won first price for the first time. Remaking of mini Roman city and a live volcano (thanks to his brother,Raju, for the stunning idea and implementation) attracted many in the parish.

From 1997 to till date he won 3 first, 4 second. there is no competition for last two years. Do you think George and his brother are the only people behind making of crib. A big NO. Father is the all time key player. A good support from Mother to make a hand-made paper-star and paddy fields. Sister is good in transporting tools and materials on demand and ofcourse good in cleaning ;-). Raju loves building palaces in cardboard, helps to make landscape. George, happily builds thermocol building, pulkoodu along with mother and once he built a ship that rows its oars by the help of a mini-motor( translation of rotating motion into linear motion ;-) . it took around one month for research until his mother impatiently asked, "ithu vallathum nadakkodai", Will it ever going to happen ?

I am getting bored of writing all this, don't you? So see our works (mostly re-works) here

First time we are participating in (they are conducting) a crib competition in CODC. Lookose, Anand, raveesh, Bijoy,Sujith, Paul, even Syam , an outsider, did a shoulder to shoulder work to get it done. The result was amazing. here is a view from a unique angle.

Click flickr to see our work.

This time it was a competition to wish her. I never thought that Raju migth have wish her @ mid-night. I was just 10 minutes late :-(

I don't know when we started wishing her (or father/raju/minu). but one thing is sure that the chapter in 7th standard influenced me much. there ( where ???... there :-))) .... there a little boy give a different gift to his father !!! I forgot the actual story though I am trying to continue. he rose up early in the morning around 4 am and he helped his father by milking the cows and cleaning the farm house so and so ... on the morning his father was amazed to see all these things . he wondered who did all these things and was so happy to see his son did it as a birthday gift for him :-) the catching photo in the chapter is the boy with a candle.

Similarly we woke up in the morning @ 5.30 and lighted a candle in the dinning table near to her birthday cake and kept a the greeting card too. and simply acted as sleeping. she usually gets up @5.45. She was surprised to see all these things and called father.he amazed and first suspected me !
"Is it Joju !!!"
"No no ..he is sleeping"
(giggling)
"yeah he only. ezhunelkkada "
...
---Start of Yet Another remarkable day !

I don't know why I am so excited this time. I am just counting down the days to go home. may be because of multiple reasons. My brother is coming from Bombay after 6 months and sister from cherthala after 3 months. And also planning to buy a new Ford Ikon Flair. totally excited !!!!

May be after long time. usually I count down the remaining hours as soon as Chemistry exam over. next day Maths I ,noon Maths II and go varantharapilli, mom's home, where I can play with my cousin, enjoy the beauty of a village, enjoy the fresh air, play in thodu (a small river) and.... the home made rice. you know... it was so pure that made us to say our grandfather that we will not go there if he stops harvesting. that much we, the city people, loved that soft/fresh meals :)

footnote: life stills goes on with out without ....
The village is now changed to a kind of town. fairly polluted. the surprising thing is that the road got tared !!! I ( my father as well) never thought about this thing in our wildest dreams :-)) . The sad thing is many people(including my grandfather) stopped harvesting in the field :-( we had lost an opportunity to play hide and seek in the ara (where the paddy stores) along with nice food.

It is amazing to see Taj Mahal, correct ?

But you can appreciate more if you knew that it built by Shah Jahan in the loving memory of his wife Mumtaz. More interested ? Taj Mahal was constructed over a period of 22 years, employing 20000 workers. It stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon.

The more you knows about some thing you will get more interest. :-)

What prompt me to write this !!!
I had seen Achuvinte Amma . It is a Yet Another nice film in Malayalam.(Cast :Meera Jasmine, Urvashi and Sunil). Songs are also very good. But I got more interested on these songs after hearing these songs with an introduction by its Director(Satyan Anthikad). He simply narrated how the Music Director(Illayaraja ) created those songs. his efforts, his first melody with a trail lyrics. I am sure that you will be impressed more.
"Shwasathin Thaalam... Thennal Ariyumo... Poonthennal Ariyumo
Mounathin Nadham... Veena Ariyumo... Mani Veena Ariyumo"
listen it here

May be that is the reason why I liked Jackie chan's Movie. You may see the shooting of stunt scenes after the movie. Those impress many people.

footnote:
Once Melvin had told me about the difference between calling something with and without name. Yeah It is a People management strategy. If you call a person by name, he will be more happy. But Mel was used a different example to prove it. In Discovery Channel, while they are giving running commentary, they just say one deer is running for its life from a tiger. cool .. we just enjoy the seen of tiger chasing that deer. at the end, tiger is catching the deer on its neck. wow what a move by that huge tiger. fantastic !!! Aren't we happy to see that? we can appreciate the photography and other things too.
But things are different in National Geographic Channel. They are giving name to that deer and tiger. and changing the commentary as "Sherkhan is chasing poor little Pintu ....". We are so sad to see that scene. at the end, poor Pintu is brutally killed by cruel Sherkhan. Aren't we so sad to see the broken neck of Pintu ??? There the different lies !!!

...I would like to say that it is a mere wastage of time, money and energy :-(

Watched Anandabhadram with Sandeep today. A Santhosh Sivan Movie(Director of Asoka) !!! As expected its photography is amazing. He did a superb work on Raja Ravi Verma's Paintings to make it visualize. If you take the movie as a series of 5-15 minutes clips, it is fantastic. It is good to see some good graphics work in Malayalam Movie.

But as a Director, he must know how to win the heart of audience. Otherwise, at the end of noon show some people like Sandeep might say, "We could have sleep in the room either !!!". Correct. I too felt the same thing.

I felt a bit desperate and decided to revisit, one of the Tom Hanks movie. 'You have got Mail'. I watched it at a stretch again, may be after 12th time !!! This is one of the movies that won my heart :-)
